The university cafeteria was coordinated by InterOffice, overseeing furniture selection, layout, and custom furniture. The aim was to craft an inviting space catering to a diverse range of individuals, including students and faculty, ensuring not only comfort during meals but also versatility for various activities. Four distinct zones were strategically arranged:
1. Flexible Zone
Primarily dedicated to meals, this area is also suitable for hosting events and seminars. Stacking chairs and tables were placed to facilitate different configurations.
2. Private Zone
The BIG TABLE area allows individuals to have meals or engage in solitary thinking.
3. Relaxation Zone
Located closer to the outdoors, this area encourages relaxed conversations and communication while enjoying the seasonal ambiance.
4. Garden Zone
Utilizing an expanded wooden deck, this zone serves multiple purposes such as a cafe, meeting place, and a space for refreshment.
Aligned with the concept proposed by Mitsubishi Jisho Design Inc., the selected furniture complements the vision. By combining two materials, wood and plastic, a bright and lively atmosphere was created. The synergy between furniture and interior design enhances the overall ambiance. Thanks to the incorporation of casually accessible furniture, the cafeteria has become an inviting space, making it easy for individuals to enter without hesitation.
