The Asada Mesh Group Headquarters, a leading manufacturer of metal mesh, embarked on a post-COVID 19 project aimed at relocating certain departments, improving office environments, and establishing a showroom. The company’s proprietary “Design Mesh,” a special stainless steel mesh available in a wide range of textures, from soft and silky to robust and durable, was to be showcased in the showroom. The space would allow visitors to experience various visual perspectives and explore the possibilities of this versatile material using creative lighting.
In contrast to the refined and sophisticated showroom, which emphasized the metallic material’s texture, the adjacent office space was designed to evoke a softer ambiance, featuring a predominant wooden aesthetic to prioritize comfort. This stark contrast between the two spaces was intended to accentuate the presence of Design Mesh and leave a lasting impression on visitors.
The office adopted a free-address system, offering employees the flexibility to choose their seats based on their moods. A diverse array of furniture was provided to facilitate this choice. By situating a reception area between the showroom and office, the layout achieved clear and rational flow patterns.
The meeting rooms and reception area were equipped with dimmable glass partitions, providing transparency and an open atmosphere during regular times. However, during client visits, the glass could be switched to an opaque mode, ensuring privacy and a sense of security.
