We are pleased to announce our collaboration in the exhibition LIVING Modernity: Experiments in the Exceptional and Everyday 1920s-1970s, which will be held at The National Art Center, Tokyo (Roppongi) from March 19 (Wed) to June 30 (Mon), 2025.

This exhibition revisits groundbreaking approaches to housing in the 20th century through seven key themes that define the modern house: hygiene, materials, windows, kitchens, furnishings, media, and landscape. Centering on 14 iconic houses designed by architects such as Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and Kameki Tsuchiura, the exhibition explores the essence of modern living through photographs, drawings, models, furniture, textiles, magazines, and more.

A highlight of the exhibition is the full-scale reconstruction of Mies van der Rohe’s unbuilt “Row House” project, presented in Gallery 2E with its soaring 8-meter-high ceiling. Visitors will also find a special area to experience renowned furniture designs still in production today, as well as VR experiences and talk events. Admission to the second-floor exhibition, including the “Row House,” is free of charge.

This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the history of residential architecture and to consider what the future of living might hold. We hope you will visit and enjoy this inspiring journey through modern housing innovations.
